Provide leadership to the section, which is comprised of 175
FTE's and oversee the design teams to execute design projects that range from civil/structural, Substation physical layouts, Protection and Control schemes at 12.
5kV through 500kV to SCADA, relay setting sand substation communications projects.
Oversee proposal efforts, review, and provide proposal approval within authorization limits.
Partner directly with various utility clients nationwide to understand both the scale/scope of project, from engineering design through construction support.
Maintain and manage client relationships.
Partner with the business development teams and account managers to support sales and new business activities.
Lead and advocate training activities to ensure the staff in the section have the technical knowledge to execute high-quality projects.
Partner with the Project Management Office (PMO) and finance team to ensure projects are being executed with high quality and meet the financial obligations of Leidos and its customers.
Direct the team to achieve the annual operating plan metrics and ensure team is positioned for growth in the industry.
Focus on employee initiatives that drive retention.
What Sets You Apart:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and minimum of twelve (12)
years of prior relevant experience.
Ten (10)
years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
Understanding of substations/protection and control.
Professional Engineering Registration (NCEES Record preferred).
Ideally, candidate would be within driving distance of one of the following offices (Portland, OR, Chicago IL, Framingham MA or Walled Lake MI).
Relocation assistance is available.
As a position with supervisory responsibilities, the candidate will be expected to report in-person in a hybrid schedule.
However, all qualified candidates residing in the U.
S.
will be considered including those for work-remote only.

Capability to lead all aspects of a large engineering team.
Sales pipeline creation.
Work effectively in a team environment and independently.
Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams.
Ability to develop staff through mentoring.
Capability to review engineering calculations and designs for Substation Physical, P&C, and SCADA.
Knowledge of engineering estimates, construction cost estimating, specification, material procurement process, project schedule creation, and construction work packages.
Ability to travel periodically to visit clients and Leidos offices.
