Summary:
The Sr.
Analyst, Merchandising Portfolio Strategy is part of the team that works closely with senior Staples executives to drive different elements of merchandising strategy.
You will support that mission through consultative problem-solving, hypothesis-driven data analysis and structured project management.
You will be exposed to core functions like Merchandising, Marketing, Planning, Finance and Operations.
The role also provides exposure to various channels (Stores, Online, Staples Advantage).

Responsibilities:
Become an expert in the analytics supporting critical merchandising business processes such as Portfolio Management, Category Management, Assortment Planning and Seasonal Planning Provide analytics support to merchant teams on critical ad-hoc projects Analyze category growth, competition, vendor dynamics by leveraging external market data Support seasonal planning by analyzing performance and drawing insights Work across channels (Retail,.
com, Contract) and functions (Merchandising, Planning, Finance, Marketing, etc.
) to gather data and execute analyses Present findings from analyses to Portfolio management and category managers Contribute to the learning of the group by proactively sharing knowledge gained Qualifications Qualifications Basic:
Bachelor's degree in Economics/Finance/Business, Mathematics, Marketing or related fields Minimum 1-2 years of experience in merchandising, marketing, finance, inventory management/supply chain/planning, or related fields Preferred:
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Powerpoint, Access) Some familiarity with data access and analytics tools like BRIO, APT, etc Strong oral and written communication skills High energy, motivation and can-do attitude Passion for / interest in learning core merchandising analytics and business processes.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
